Andrzej Klimczak-Dobrzaniecki (1946 – 2020)

Urodzony w Prudniku. Malarz, rysownik, wykładowca akademicki. W latach 1965 – 1971 studiował we wrocławskiej PWSSP ( dzisiejsza Akademia Sztuk Pięknych im. Eugeniusza Gepperta) m.in. u Eugeniusza Gepperta, Alfonsa Mazurkiewicza i Mieczysława Zdanowicza. Przez całe życie związany zawodowo z macierzystą uczelnią, w 1994 roku uzyskał tytuł profesora zwyczajnego. W latach 1990 – 1993 pełnił funkcję rektora. W latach 1997–2009 wykładowca malarstwa na Wydziale Artystycznym Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego. Członek wrocławskiego oddziału ZPAP. Internowany w stanie wojennym. Odznaczony I Złotą Paletą na 27. Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Malarstwa w Cagnes-sur-Mer, Francja (1995) oraz Złotym Medalem Zasłużonych w Kulturze Gloria Artis (2014). Uczestnik ponad dwustu wystaw indywidualnych i zbiorowych, m.in. we Włoszech, Czechach, Niemczech, Austrii, Francji, Holandii, Belgii, Turcji, Chinach.

Born in 1946 in Prudnik. Painter, draughtsman, university lecturer. During 1965–1971 he studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław (currently the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design), among others at the studios of Eugeniusz Geppert, Alfons Mazurkiewicz and Mieczysław Zdanowicz. Throughout the whole life, he was professionally associated with his alma mater, in 1994 he was awarded the title of full professor. In the years 1990–1993 he held the function of rector. During 1997–2009 he worked as a lecturer of painting at the Art Faculty in Zielona Góra University. He was a member of Wrocław branch of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers. He was interned during the time of the martial law. He was honoured with the I Golden Palette at the 27th International Painting Festival in Cagnes-sur-Mer in France (1995) and the Gold Medal for ‘Merit to Culture “Gloria Artis”’ (2014). He was a participant of over 200 individual and collective exhibitions, among others in Italy, the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Turkey, China.
